American Grapeness: Signature Wine & Food

I come not to praise the apolitical space, only to suggest that wine and food can help.

This class is all about tasting wines that make America the exceptional wine nation it is. We don’t have a lot of our own native wine grapes, but America does have some signature grapes and styles. Until recently, the Euro grapes we did have were unfamous cast offs, and thanks to them, we have something more interesting than mono-culture. You’ll taste and learn a couple of newly emerging American grapes, an exquisitely blended wine that’s right on trend, and Zinfandel, of course.

Not too surprisingly, our best and most interesting wines – Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, more – are an almost supernatural match with our American signature cuisine: barbecue. After the tasting class, put what you learned to work as we sit down to the rich, multiple styles of Blue Ribbon Barbecue paired with a perfect American blend.
